What is the Honda Plus extended warranty?
Honda Plus is the extended warranty presented by Honda Canada on its website and available through Honda dealers. Up to 8 years or 200,000 km, whichever comes first. A 10-year / 160,000 km plan is also offered. Terms are counted from the vehicle’s original delivery date.
What does Honda Plus cover?
Honda describes Honda Plus as one of the most comprehensive extended warranties in the industry: with a few exceptions, most components are covered. Its comparison with the standard warranty covers eight systems, from climate control to the powertrain.
What is not covered by Honda Plus?
Honda says there are a few exceptions. It names an electric vehicle’s high-voltage battery, charging cables and home or other chargers. The Service Provision sets out all the terms and conditions: ask your advisor for it.
How long does Honda Plus last? Which terms are available?
Up to 8 years or 200,000 km, whichever comes first. A 10-year / 160,000 km plan is also offered. Plan terms include the factory warranty, so “8 years” means 8 years of total coverage counted from delivery, not 8 extra years on top.
What is the difference between the factory warranty and Honda Plus?
The factory warranty comes with a new Honda: for a gasoline or hybrid model, 3 years / 60,000 km of basic coverage and 5 years / 100,000 km on the powertrain. Honda Plus is a plan you buy on top. Its terms include the factory warranty and are counted from the original delivery date. Up to 8 years or 200,000 km, whichever comes first. A 10-year / 160,000 km plan is also offered.
What is the standard Honda warranty in Canada?
A new gasoline or hybrid Honda has 3 years / 60,000 km of basic coverage and 5 years / 100,000 km on the powertrain, whichever comes first. Some items run longer, such as the hybrid system (8 years / 160,000 km) and rust perforation (5 years, no distance limit). On an electric vehicle, the high-voltage battery is covered for 8 years / 160,000 km.
Does Honda Plus have a deductible?
No. Honda Plus has a $0 deductible on a covered component breakdown. There is no deductible on roadside assistance either.
Does Honda Plus include roadside assistance? How do I reach it?
Yes. With Honda Plus, roadside assistance is extended at no extra cost. To reach Honda Plus Roadside Assistance, available 24 hours a day, use the contact details Honda Canada publishes in the Roadside Assistance section of its website, or speak to your Honda dealer. Roadside assistance depends on time only, with no km limit. It is counted from the date you sign the Honda Plus application, not from delivery.
What does the trip interruption coverage pay?
If a breakdown happens more than 100 km from home, Honda Plus pays for emergency lodging and meals, plus a rental car or commercial transport (taxi, bus or train) to your destination and back to the repair site. The total limit is $500 per incident, less any car-rental reimbursement you receive.
Will I get a rental car while my Honda is repaired?
Possibly. If a covered repair takes more than 5 hours in total, you may, under most conditions, be entitled to a rental car under the Honda Plus rental provisions.
Does Honda Plus cover hybrids and electric vehicles?
Yes. Honda’s price list includes these models: Civic and Prelude hybrids, Accord and CR-V hybrids, and the Prologue (electric). The high-voltage battery of an electric vehicle is covered by Honda’s 8-year / 160,000 km factory warranty and is excluded from Honda Plus. Charging cables and home or other chargers are excluded too.
Cost and price
How much does a Honda extended warranty cost in Canada?
Honda publishes suggested retail prices that vary by model, plan and model year (price list effective May 1, 2026). To get the price for your Honda, request a quote. The price in your quote includes all mandatory fees. In Quebec, only GST and QST are added.
How much does Honda Plus cost for a CR-V, Civic, Accord or Pilot?
Honda’s price list puts gasoline models in three price groups (the Civic; the Accord, CR-V and HR-V; the Pilot, Odyssey, Ridgeline and Passport) and lists hybrids separately. The price also depends on the plan and the model year: ask for a detailed written quote for your vehicle.
Does the price depend on model year and kilometres?
For model year, yes: Honda’s price list adds a surcharge for some model years. The kilometres on the odometer matter mostly for eligibility, which requires under 100,000 km. Above 100,000 km, Honda’s price list refers to a separate list for used vehicles. Ask your advisor what applies.
Why can the price of a Honda Plus plan vary?
Honda publishes a suggested retail price for Honda Plus and says the dealer may sell for less. Your advisor gives you our price. That price depends on the model, the plan and the model year.
How do I compare two Honda Plus quotes?
To compare two Honda Plus quotes, check the term, the kilometres, the benefits, the mandatory fees included, the date and the service contract. Ask for each quote in writing.
Are taxes and fees included in the price?
The price in your quote includes all mandatory fees. In Quebec, only GST and QST are added. A quote request is not a contract. Nothing is charged on this site.
Can I pay for Honda Plus in instalments?
Ask your advisor about payment options for your plan. If you buy the plan with the vehicle, Honda says it can be included in the financing or the cash settlement. No payment is requested on this site.
How do I get a quote, and what do I need?
Fill in the quote request: your Honda’s model year, kilometres and model, then your name, phone number and email. An advisor then contacts you to confirm eligibility and your price. A quote request is not a contract. Nothing is charged on this site.
Is it worth it, and when to buy
Is a Honda extended warranty worth it?
It depends on how long you keep the vehicle, how far you drive and what an unexpected repair bill would do to your budget. Some owners can do without it.
When is the best time to buy Honda Plus?
Honda recommends buying the plan when you acquire the vehicle so it can be rolled into the financing or the cash settlement. Coverage is counted from the vehicle’s original delivery date, not from the day you buy the plan.
If I wait, do I lose coverage?
Waiting does not move the end of the plan: an 8-year plan still ends 8 years after the original delivery, or at its kilometre limit, whichever comes first. Example only, not a quote: on an 8-year / 200,000 km plan, a vehicle that is already 3 years and 60,000 km old has at most 5 years / 140,000 km of Honda Plus coverage left.
Can I buy Honda Plus after the factory warranty expires?
Honda’s published conditions are about the vehicle (Canadian model, model year and kilometres), not the factory warranty. A Honda whose basic warranty has ended can therefore be eligible if it meets those conditions. An advisor confirms whether your vehicle is eligible.
Is it too late to buy Honda Plus? How old can my car be?
Under Honda’s price list effective May 1, 2026, model years 2022 to 2027 are eligible, and the vehicle must have under 100,000 km. Both conditions must be met.
Can I buy Honda Plus for a used Honda?
Honda’s published conditions are about the Canadian model, the model year and the kilometres. They do not mention the number of owners. An advisor confirms your vehicle’s eligibility before any transaction.
Honda Plus or a third-party extended warranty: what’s the difference?
Honda Plus is the extended warranty presented by Honda Canada and available through Honda dealers. A third-party warranty is a different product with its own terms. Compare who issues each contract, when coverage starts, where you get repairs done and what you pay per claim.
Trust
Is buying a Honda extended warranty online legit or a scam?
Check who is selling and what the contract says. This site names its operator, Qualité Performance Magog inc., doing business as Magog Honda, with its address and its Office de la protection du consommateur permit. No payment is requested on this site, and in Quebec the law gives you 10 days to cancel an extended warranty contract.
Who is Magog Honda? Who am I buying from?
Magog Honda is a Honda dealership of Groupe Olivier, at 2400 rue Sherbrooke, Magog, Quebec J1X 4E6. The business is Qualité Performance Magog inc. (Quebec enterprise number (NEQ) 1176794783). Office de la protection du consommateur road vehicle merchant permit no. 2108878-1.
I didn’t buy my Honda from you. Can I still request a quote?
Yes. Make a request: the advisor tells you whether a plan can be offered to you based on your vehicle and where you live. For a covered repair, have the vehicle taken to the Honda dealer of your choice.
How does buying work: online or by phone?
You fill in a quote request on this site. An advisor then contacts you by phone. Before anything is concluded, the advisor gives you all the information required by law, and you can accept, refuse or correct the proposal. You then receive a written copy of the contract within 15 days.
Will I get the contract, and can I read it before paying?
Honda says the Service Provision, which sets out all the terms and conditions, is provided at purchase. You can ask to see the Service Provision before you buy. After the sale, you receive a written copy of the contract within 15 days.
Can I talk to an advisor before deciding?
Yes. After your quote request, an advisor contacts you by phone, and nothing commits you until you accept the proposal. You can also write to [email protected].
What do you do with my personal information? Will I get spam?
We use your information to handle your quote request and contact you about it, by phone or email. The consent on the form covers this request only, and you can withdraw it at any time. For any question: [email protected].
Eligibility
Is my Honda eligible for Honda Plus?
Canadian models up to 5 model years old and under 100,000 km. Both conditions must be met. Model years 2022 and 2023 require a Honda Plus Inspection. An advisor confirms eligibility before any transaction.
Can I buy Honda Plus with more than 100,000 km?
Honda’s published conditions require under 100,000 km. Above 100,000 km, Honda’s price list refers to a separate list for used vehicles. Ask your advisor what applies.
Is a Honda imported from the U.S. eligible?
Honda’s price list covers Canadian models only. For an imported vehicle, ask your advisor whether it can qualify.
Does my 2022 or 2023 Honda need an inspection?
Yes. Model years 2022 and 2023 require a Honda Plus Inspection. Ask your advisor how it works.
Can I get Honda Plus if I live outside Quebec, in Ontario for example?
We cannot promise it in advance. Make a request: the advisor tells you whether a plan can be offered to you based on your vehicle and where you live.
Which Honda models are eligible?
Canadian models that meet the model-year and kilometre conditions. Honda’s price list effective May 1, 2026 lists the Civic; the Accord, CR-V and HR-V; the Pilot, Odyssey, Ridgeline and Passport; and these hybrid and electric models: Civic and Prelude hybrids, Accord and CR-V hybrids, and the Prologue (electric).
When does my Honda Plus coverage start and end?
The coverage period starts on the date of the vehicle’s Retail Delivery Report (its original delivery date) and at 0 km, whenever you buy the plan. It ends at the plan’s term or kilometre limit, whichever comes first. Roadside assistance depends on time only, with no km limit. It is counted from the date you sign the Honda Plus application, not from delivery.
Using your plan
Where can I get my Honda repaired under Honda Plus?
For a covered repair, have the vehicle taken to the Honda dealer of your choice. It need not be the dealer that sold you the plan. Honda says repairs use Honda parts and Honda-trained technicians.
Is Honda Plus valid in the United States? In Mexico?
Honda says your Honda Plus warranty goes with you in Canada and the continental U.S. It does not name Mexico. Outside Canada, you pay for the repair first, then contact your selling dealership about reimbursement of eligible claims.
What should I do if my Honda breaks down?
Get to safety, then have the vehicle transported safely to the Honda dealer of your choice. To reach Honda Plus Roadside Assistance, available 24 hours a day, use the contact details Honda Canada publishes in the Roadside Assistance section of its website, or speak to your Honda dealer.
How do I make a claim?
For a covered repair, have the vehicle taken to the Honda dealer of your choice. The Service Provision, provided at purchase, sets out all the terms and conditions. Outside Canada, you pay for the repair first, then contact your selling dealership about reimbursement of eligible claims.
Do I have to service my car at a Honda dealer to keep the plan valid?
Maintain your vehicle as Honda recommends in the owner’s manual to keep the plan in effect. Honda’s public pages do not say where it must be done: ask your advisor for the Service Provision.
Can I transfer Honda Plus if I sell my car?
Yes, under most conditions, at no cost. The transfer happens automatically when the Honda factory warranty is transferred to the new owner.
Can I cancel Honda Plus? How does the refund work?
Yes. In Quebec, you may cancel (rescind) your extended warranty contract at your discretion, at no cost or penalty, within 10 days after it is concluded, by sending written notice to the merchant or its representative. The contract ends as soon as the notice is sent, and the merchant must refund the amount received as soon as possible. This period becomes one year if the merchant did not give you the warranty information that the law requires (Consumer Protection Act, s. 228.3). Send your notice to [email protected] or to Magog Honda, 2400 rue Sherbrooke, Magog, Quebec J1X 4E6.
Honda also states that a plan can be cancelled for any reason within 30 days of purchase for a full refund, through the Honda dealer. This term is in addition to your 10-day legal right. Honda’s public pages do not say what applies after 30 days. Ask your advisor for the Service Provision.
What happens if I move to another province?
Honda says your coverage remains valid if you change your address within Canada. For a covered repair, you still have the vehicle taken to the Honda dealer of your choice.
Does Honda Plus include tire and rim protection?
Honda lists tire and rim protection among its protection products, separately from its warranties. Ask your advisor what the Service Provision says. This site is only about the Honda Plus extended warranty.
