Why can the price of a Honda Plus plan vary?

The price can vary with the vehicle’s model year, the plan’s term and its kilometres. The vehicle model counts too.

To learn the price that applies to your vehicle, ask for a detailed written quote. See what to ask for in writing.

What can change the price?

The plan you choose and the vehicle come first. Then the selling price and what is added to it. Honda Plus is the extended warranty presented by Honda Canada on its website and available through Honda dealers.

  • The longest terms and kilometres

    200,000 km

Up to 8 years or 200,000 km, whichever comes first. A 10-year / 160,000 km plan is also offered.

  • The term and kilometres you choose

Each plan pairs a term with a kilometre limit. Changing either one changes the suggested price: a 7-year / 130,000 km plan, an 8-year / 130,000 km plan and a 7-year / 200,000 km plan do not have the same price.

  • Model year

Honda’s price list includes a surcharge that depends on the vehicle’s model year.

  • Vehicle model

Honda’s price list shows different prices depending on the model.

  • Selling price

Honda’s own price list says the dealer may sell for less.

  • Fees and taxes

The price in your quote includes all mandatory fees. In Quebec, only GST and QST are added.

The Honda Plus contract sets out the plan’s terms, limits and exclusions. Ask your advisor to explain them before you commit. This page covers only some of them. If you notice a difference between this site and your contract, tell us: what we state here binds us, as the Consumer Protection Act provides.

Where does the price of a Honda Plus plan come from?

Honda publishes a suggested retail price (MSRP) for its Honda Plus plans, effective May 1, 2026 and subject to change without notice. It is Honda’s suggestion, not the price in a quote.

Honda’s own price list says the dealer may sell for less. So the price in your quote can differ from the suggested price. See also our Honda extended warranty cost guide.

Here, everything starts with a quote request. Tell us your Honda’s year, kilometres and model. An advisor then contacts you and gives you our price.

Why does the price depend on your vehicle?

A price is given for one vehicle and one plan. Your vehicle must also meet Honda’s conditions. Canadian models up to 5 model years old and under 100,000 km. Both conditions must be met. Model years 2022 and 2023 require a Honda Plus Inspection. Above 100,000 km, Honda’s price list refers to a separate list for used vehicles. Ask your advisor what applies. See eligibility.

The form does not ask for your VIN: the year, kilometres and model are enough to make the request. A quote request is not a contract. Nothing is charged on this site.

What should you ask for in writing?

A detailed written quote shows what is behind the price. It is the document to ask for, from us or from any other seller.

  1. The exact plan

The term and the kilometre limit, for your vehicle.

  2. The price and the fees

The price, the mandatory fees included and the date of the quote.

  3. The benefits and the contract

What the plan includes. You can ask to see the Service Provision before you buy.

The term is counted from delivery. The coverage period starts on the date of the vehicle’s Retail Delivery Report (its original delivery date) and at 0 km, whenever you buy the plan. Example only, not a quote: on an 8-year / 200,000 km plan, a vehicle that is already 3 years and 60,000 km old has at most 5 years / 140,000 km of Honda Plus coverage left.

Already holding two quotes?

Before you look at the price, check that both cover the same plan on the same vehicle. A different term or kilometre limit can be enough to explain the gap.

We do not compare our prices with those of other sellers: this page only explains what can make a price vary.

What the price does not tell you

A number alone does not say what you get. Here is what Honda states for Honda Plus. Looking at a plan from an independent company instead? See Honda Plus vs a third-party warranty.

Questions to ask beyond the price, and the answers.
If you wonderThe answer
Does an 8-year plan add 8 years? No. Plan terms include the factory warranty, so “8 years” means 8 years of total coverage counted from delivery, not 8 extra years on top.
Is there a deductible?$0 deductible on a covered component breakdown. There is no deductible on roadside assistance either.
Is roadside assistance part of it?Roadside assistance, 24/7, is extended at no extra cost.
Can the plan be transferred?Transferable under most conditions, at no cost. The transfer happens automatically when the Honda factory warranty is transferred to the new owner.
Can I cancel?Cancel for any reason within 30 days of the plan purchase date for a 100% refund, through the Honda dealer. This term is in addition to your 10-day legal right, described with the quote form.

Frequently asked questions

Honda’s price list does not say. The price in your quote includes all mandatory fees. In Quebec, only GST and QST are added.

Should I buy Honda Plus from the dealer where I bought my car?

Honda Plus is the extended warranty presented by Honda Canada on its website and available through Honda dealers.
