Is Your Honda Eligible for Honda Plus? Age, Kilometres and Timing
Honda Plus is open to Canadian models up to 5 model years old and under 100,000 km. Check your vehicle below, then ask for a quote.
Timing Coverage counts from original delivery, not from the day you buy.
Which Hondas qualify
- Vehicle age, up to
- 5 model years
- Kilometres, under
- 100,000 km
Canadian models only. Both conditions must be met.
Is my Honda eligible for Honda Plus?
A Honda is eligible for Honda Plus, the extended warranty presented by Honda Canada, when it is a Canadian model up to 5 model years old with under 100,000 km. Honda’s price list effective May 1, 2026 names model years 2022 to 2027. Your advisor confirms your case before preparing your quote.
Market. Canadian models only.
Inspection. Model years 2022 and 2023 require a Honda Plus Inspection.
Higher kilometres. See what applies above 100,000 km.
This site is about the Honda Plus Extended Warranty for Canadian models of Honda cars, SUVs, minivans and trucks. Prices are in Canadian dollars and distances in kilometres.
- Terms
- Up to 8 years or 200,000 km, whichever comes first. A 10-year / 160,000 km plan is also offered.
- Transfer
- Transferable under most conditions, at no cost. The transfer happens automatically when the Honda factory warranty is transferred to the new owner.
- Territory
- Canada and the continental U.S. Outside Canada, you pay for the repair first.
Have these in hand
The checker asks for the model year, the kilometres and the original delivery date. The quote form asks for the year, the kilometres and the model.

Model year and model. Both are usually on your vehicle registration. The VIN, which the advisor may ask for later, is on it too.

Kilometres. Read them on your dashboard odometer.

Original delivery date. If you bought your Honda new, the month and year are usually on your bill of sale. If not, give what you know and ask your advisor.
Check your vehicle
See whether your Honda meets Honda’s two conditions, and how much would remain at most on a plan of 8 years / 200,000 km. Nothing is stored or sent.
The needle rests on Honda’s limit, under 100,000 km. It shows the rule, not a reading from your vehicle.
Where do I find my VIN?
Your 17-character VIN is on a label near where the driver’s door latches, at the bottom corner of the windshield on the driver’s side, and on your vehicle registration.
- Bottom corner of the windshield, driver’s side
- Label near where the driver’s door latches
- Your vehicle registration
Your VIN is used to prepare your quote. No payment is requested on this site.
Result unclear or outside the conditions? Send a request anyway: the advisor tells you whether a plan can be offered based on your vehicle and where you live. How the online quote works
When does my coverage start and end?
The coverage period starts on the date of the vehicle’s Retail Delivery Report (its original delivery date) and at 0 km, whenever you buy the plan. If you do not know the date, give what you know and ask your advisor.
Waiting does not push back the end of your coverage: a plan with a term of 8 years still ends 8 years after delivery, or at its kilometre limit, whichever comes first. Honda recommends buying the plan when you acquire the vehicle so it can be rolled into the financing or the cash settlement.
- Basic factory warranty: 3 years / 60,000 km
- Powertrain (gas and hybrid vehicles): 5 years / 100,000 km
- Honda Plus: up to 8 years / 200,000 km
The hatching marks the basic factory warranty period. This drawing is not a quote. The price and the term of your plan are those of your quote. Ask for it in writing.
- A Honda Plus plan of
- 8 years
- or
- 200,000 km
Up to 8 years or 200,000 km, whichever comes first. A 10-year / 160,000 km plan is also offered. Plan terms include the factory warranty, so “8 years” means 8 years of total coverage counted from delivery, not 8 extra years on top.
Which model years need an inspection?
Honda’s price list names model years 2022 to 2027. Model years 2022 and 2023 require a Honda Plus Inspection. Ask your advisor what that involves.
| Model year | On the price list | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| 2024 to 2027 | Yes | No inspection listed |
| 2022 and 2023 | Yes | A Honda Plus Inspection |
| Before 2022 | No | Outside Honda’s published conditions |
Honda’s price list effective May 1, 2026, subject to change without notice. The model year is also one of the factors in the price: see why the price of a Honda Plus plan can vary.
What if my Honda has more than 100,000 km, or is not a Canadian model?
Above 100,000 km, Honda’s price list refers to a separate list for used vehicles. Ask your advisor what applies. Honda’s price list covers Canadian models only. If your Honda was imported, send a request and the advisor checks what applies.
Two different numbers: a vehicle needs under 100,000 km to buy a plan, and a plan can run up to 200,000 km.
Can I buy after the factory warranty ends, or for a used Honda?
The Honda conditions we reviewed are about the model year and the kilometres, not about who owned the vehicle first. A used Honda that meets both conditions may therefore qualify. If your factory warranty has ended, your advisor tells you what applies.
Do the same rules apply to a used Honda?
The same two conditions apply, and coverage is still counted from the original delivery date. A plan already held by the previous owner can be transferred at no cost, under most conditions: see claims, transfer and cancellation.
How long can you wait?
The Honda conditions we reviewed set no separate purchase deadline. Waiting still reduces what remains of the plan, because coverage is counted from delivery: see when your coverage starts. To see what ends and when, read our guide to the Honda factory warranty.
Frequently asked questions about eligibility
When is the best time to buy Honda Plus?
Honda recommends buying the plan when you acquire the vehicle so it can be rolled into the financing or the cash settlement. Coverage counts from the original delivery date, so buying early leaves you the most of the term. Buying later may still be possible if your Honda meets both conditions; your advisor confirms your case.
If I wait, do I lose coverage?
Your factory warranty is not affected, but a plan bought later covers a shorter stretch. Honda Plus is counted from your vehicle’s original delivery date at 0 km, not from the day you buy. A plan with a term of 8 years still ends 8 years after delivery, or at its kilometre limit, whichever comes first.
Is it too late to buy Honda Plus? How old can my car be?
In the conditions we reviewed, Honda publishes no separate purchase deadline. It sets two conditions instead: up to 5 model years old and under 100,000 km, and both must be met. Honda’s price list effective May 1, 2026 names model years 2022 to 2027. Your advisor confirms whether your model year qualifies before preparing your quote.
Can I buy Honda Plus for a used Honda I did not buy new?
The Honda conditions we reviewed are about the model year and the kilometres, not about who the first owner was. A used Honda that meets both may therefore qualify, and its coverage is still counted from its original delivery date. Your advisor confirms your case.
Is my Honda eligible for Honda Plus?
Canadian models up to 5 model years old and under 100,000 km. Both conditions must be met. Give your model year, kilometres and model in the form, and an advisor contacts you to confirm eligibility.
Can I buy Honda Plus with more than 100,000 km?
Not under Honda’s standard conditions, which require under 100,000 km. Above 100,000 km, Honda’s price list refers to a separate list for used vehicles. Ask your advisor what applies.
Is a U.S.-spec Honda imported to Canada eligible?
Honda’s price list is for Canadian models only. If your Honda was imported, or you are not sure where it comes from, send a request and the advisor checks what applies.
Does my 2022 or 2023 Honda need an inspection?
Yes. Model years 2022 and 2023 require a Honda Plus Inspection. Ask your advisor what that involves.
When does my Honda Plus coverage start and end?
The coverage period starts on the date of the vehicle’s Retail Delivery Report (its original delivery date) and at 0 km, whenever you buy the plan. It ends when the term or the kilometre limit is reached, whichever comes first. Roadside assistance depends on time only, with no km limit. It is counted from the date the application is signed, not from delivery. If you do not know the date, give what you know and ask your advisor.
